Zachary Gurard-Levin, PhD

Zachary Gurard-Levin, PhD is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Peapod Bio Inc. He brings over two decades of experience in assay and technology development, high-throughput screening, and drug discovery along with a decade of business development, marketing, and sales experience in small and large publicly traded contract research organizations. Throughout his career, he has utilized creativity to develop solutions – scientific and commercial – that have successfully launched over 200 drug discovery programs. He has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles and served as PI on multiple research grants. Gurard-Levin previously served as the Science Director in the Small Molecule Discovery team at Charles River and was the Chief Scientific Officer of SAMDI Tech, Inc, where he played a critical role in its acquisition by Charles River Labs. Gurard-Levin is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Society of Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS), the Founder and Managing Director of Tesserae Innovations, LLC, a company dedicated to empowering innovators and entrepreneurs to communicate science with clarity and confidence, and a Board Member of Tango Biosciences, a Chicago-based CRO that develops affinity reagents using phage display. Gurard-Levin earned a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Chicago and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in chromatin biology and epigenetics at the Institut Curie in Paris, France.
